Welcome to episode 22! This episode is a little different! Instead of our usual interview format, my friend Stepha Stock and I are swapping the interviewer and guest roles for a good ol fashioned catch-up. As photographers and multi-passionate creatives, we're asking each other questions, sharing our experiences and getting into the things that make us feel creatively alive.
Stepha is a portrait and commercial photographer based in Meanjin/Brisbane, creating bold, boundary-pushing work for brands, businesses and the creative industries. Her signature everyday editorial style captures both the moment and the moments in between.
A creative wildcard in every sense, Stepha wears many hats: creative director, model, DJ, speaker and content creator. At the heart of her work is a personal mission to honour her angel mum, Coleen, by encouraging people to express themselves, embrace who they are and get in the photo.

In this episode, we chat about:
How we expressed our creativity before it became our jobs
Our journeys to picking up a camera and teaching ourselves photography
Feeling unqualified for opportunities and learning to go for them anyway
Why we love the in-between moments just as much as the hero shots
Being multi-passionate and finding ways to show all sides of ourselves
Our tendency to overproduce content, make everything aesthetically pleasing and why sometimes the simplest share has the biggest impact
The cycles of creativity and why we need time to pull back, reset and regroup
Making slow art for the sake of artistic expression, especially in an era of AI
When we feel most creatively alive
The dream projects we want to bring to life
